Dec. 19th, 2008 11:57 pmI haven't had a cell phone ringtone that didn't come with the phone since I was fifteen. Today, however, I loaded the Steel Samurai theme on my phone. Because I'm a geek. I also set a voice clip from Warcraft II as the SMS tone (an orc yelling "We're being attacked!"). I feel my phone is now sufficiently geeky.

My WoTLK Collector's Edition arrived! The really awesome part? The release date is tomorrow. Tonight, thousands of geeks all over the world will be queuing up to get a copy at the midnight sales. I picked this up on my way home from school. The wonders of postal orders.
Also, I bought something form a Japanese eBay seller, and unbeknownst to me, he very kindly included a bag of One Piece-themed snacks in the package! They're shaped like the beli/beri/berry symbol.

jadeile had her birthday party yesterday, and it was cosplay-themed. I promised I'd take pictures of my costume, so here they are:( My wig was a bit of a disaster but for a first ever cosplay, I think it was decent )

Oct. 6th, 2008 05:29 pmI've finally gotten around to watching Avatar. I love it. I was already spoiled all to Hell before I even started, but that doesn't seem to be lessening my enjoyment.
Also, One Piece's new opening:
Yeah I'm probably the only person on Earth who even noticed. Or cares.
I don't much like the We Are! remix, though I don't exactly hate it, either. And really I don't like how they didn't acknowledge Brook as a crew member. And I would have liked someBonney Rayleigh Shabondy action, but I guess they're planning on a filler arc or something. The animation was nice, though. When there was any. It's pretty meh, overall.
ETA: lol I keep checking the picture just in case he's like... hiding behind Kureha or something because I'm paranoid about being wrong.

I understand that it's no easy task to translate Devil Fruit names, what with trying to keep both the meaning and the 2x2-syllable thing intact. I actually respect the effort the translators put into it. But sometimes there's just no escaping silly translations.
That said, "kisukisu" for nekoneko is hilarious, considering the only user of the fruit so far is Lucci. Not only does it resemble the Japanese pronounciation of "kiss", it also quite literally translates to "kittykitty".
So. Lucci. Ate the Kitty Kitty Fruit. Think about that.
Another hilarious thing about the Finnish manga is the transliteration of CP as "Cipher Poll".
Also, the spoilers for the next chapter are quite glorious. I think I'm in love with Jewelry Bonney.
