Jul. 3rd, 2011 01:44 pmI have this odd habit: I "collect" nice-sounding names. I don't know why I do it; I rarely need to name anything. I've never had a pet and do not plan on having kids, at least not anytime soon. I don't even name my computers, which I understand is a major nerd faux pas.
This post was brought on by the realization that "Johan" is a very nice name and OH GOD I WILL NEVER USE THESE NAMES FOR ANYTHING WHY DO I KEEP A LIST.

Jun. 16th, 2010 04:52 pmToday, I passed an Uchiha Itachi in the street. And I don't mean "someone who kind of resembled Itachi", I mean a guy wearing an actual Akatsuki cloak, with a scraped Konoha headband and with lines drawn under his eyes. He was in the company of another Akatsuki-cloak-guy, but if the other guy was supposed to be some specific character, his cosplay was pretty lame.
The weird thing is, I have absolutely no explanation why someone would have been hanging out around the mall in cosplay. I saw no other cosplayers, there are no cons in this city, and Kitacon in the neighbouring city was weeks ago. There are a number of yearly celebrations during which you could expect to come across people in costumes, but none of them are this month.
I guess there's no reason why he couldn't walk about in cosplay if he felt like it, but it just seems so random.
So, yeah, confuzzled.

May. 19th, 2010 10:54 pmMitäköhän helvettiä nyt taas.

Apr. 7th, 2010 04:36 amIt's 4 in the morning and I'm taking Internet too seriously and feeling crappy because of it. Well, partly anyway. I think the other part of the reason is that I'm ill and feel crappy anyway. 8D
I thought learned not to let shitheads online get to me (I'm not going to elaborate, it's just some random Internet stranger, which makes my frustration even more ridiculous) a long time ago, but I guess I'm groggy and feverish and I CAN'T SLEEP ANYMORE BECAUSE MY BED IS ALWAYS EITHER TOO HOT OR TOO COLD and I'm a bit hungry but even the thought of food makes me nauseous so I don't have all my mental defenses in place or something. Ugh.
And I don't think I can afford to miss my classes tomorrow. Or technically today. Fffff.
Man, even the LJ ads seem to be making even less sense than usual.
ETA: Pheewww, the fever's gone down, and with it my anxiety. I was aware I was overreacting even when I wrote this but at the time I felt so overall horrible that I had to get it out of my system.

Feb. 26th, 2010 12:43 amMan, Nick Simmons, way to fail. Next time try plagiarizing something that isn't among the most recognized anime/manga series in the west. No, wait, next time try not to plagiarize at all.
I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in one thing, though; I don't think this guy's resemblance to Mr. 0 Sir Crocodile is intentional.

Feb. 9th, 2010 01:48 pmWhat does it say about the Internet that there is a website (probably several) that will simulate flipping a coin for you?
And what does it say about me that not only was I certain that there would be a site like that, but my first instinct was to google for it rather than pick up an actual coin and flip it?

So, about the Tekken Movie...

brb lolling forever. I keep forgetting that the blond guy with the beard is supposed to be Bryan. Also, someone American identify his accent (1:30) for me. From what I understand he sounded Texan in T5, but this one doesn't sound the same to me.
Also, this other one is totally fan-made and much more impressive, especially considering that there are about six different actors total in it.

Dec. 28th, 2009 08:54 pmI've been sleeping restlessly for the past four nights.
There are these dreams. I wouldn't call them nightmares because they're not frightening. In fact they're kind of watered-down nightmares that make me feel anxious.
The subject of the dreams varies from playing videogames and panicing at boss fights to being stranded in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The feeling is exactly the same every time, though. The zombie dream felt no worse than the one where my WoW character died (for the uninitiated, dying in WoW is usually just a minor annoyance).
I have two or three of these dreams every night, waking up after each one. The feeling of anxiety dissipates very quickly once I wake up and falling asleep again is pretty easy. It's still very strange and annoying.

Interesting day
Mar. 19th, 2009 03:22 pmI just saw the police arrest some guy on the corner of my building. He was clearly resisting arrest and judging from the scene, had been trying to escape in a car. I'm not certain if he'd been trying to make a getaway from or to these buildings, but his car was not on the main road, so I can tell he wasn't just passing by. This sort of thing isn't exactly rare in these parts.
So, yeah, nice neighbourhood.
I also saw Mr. T on a TV Shop advert today, pitying the fool who wanted to turn frozen food into something edible within twenty minutes (without the thingamabob the ad was for, that is). And he actually said "I pity the fool".

Jan. 16th, 2009 11:57 amWell, don't I feel like a fool now.
My laptop wouldn't turn on. After trying everything I could, I got on a different computer (I'm at my parents' place. There are plenty to choose from here) to look for an answer online. I was actually writing a LJ post about it, noting that, yes, I had checked that the power cord was plugged in on both ends, when it occurred to me that I hadn't checked if it was plugged in in the middle.
Sure enough, the transformer had gotten disconnected at some point, and when I connected it, the battery light on my laptop went on.
So, I basically made the most classic mistake regarding electronics ever. I concluded that it must be broken when it was just unplugged. Gah.
In my defense, the damn thing does have a habit of overheating. There was a change that it had actually fried itself.
