Dec. 12th, 2008 11:57 pmHi, friendslist! If you have a minute, take a look at my dragon eggs to help them grow:

I'll probably fail at raising these, but in the meanwhile I'm all for new toys to help me waste my time online. :D

Date: 2008-12-12 11:06 pm (UTC)They're not that hard to raise if you pay some attention. Forum's FAQ (http://dragcaveforum.technoized.com/index.php?showtopic=48) and this site (http://www.rosesagae.com/Other/Dragcave/dragcave.php) cover pretty much everything. I also post both mine and my sister's eggs & hatchlings to IJ's dragonspam (http://asylums.insanejournal.com/dragonspam/profile) community (there's one on LJ, too) so that they'll get enough clicks and views.
And, a naming hint you obviously don't have to take: it could be smart to give them some kind of a family name because otherwise the chances are that the name is already taken (the reason my dragons are Darlings and my sister's Summers). [/geekery for now]

Date: 2008-12-12 11:43 pm (UTC)Thanks for those links! I figured there'd be a place for people to link their eggs/hatchlings, but I wasn't sure how to start looking for one. xD

Date: 2008-12-13 03:43 pm (UTC)A couple of things you might also find useful:
If your eggs or hatchlings have less than three days left, you can post them here (http://www.thedcfansite.com/emergency.php). Just enter the code to the bottom of the page, and they'll be added to the list. It works amasingly fast (definitely under one hour), so if you post an egg it'd be better to keep an eye on it and hide the hatchling until it's removed from the site. Hatchling gets sick, too, if they're viewed too much when they're newborns.
And if you use Firefox, there's an add-on called Snap Links. It'll let you click several links at the same time, and it's really useful for clicking other people's eggs in the IJ community.

..how does that site works anyway? XD; I mean, how do you take care of those eggs? And do you have to feed them or something once they grow up?

Date: 2008-12-13 09:51 am (UTC)Haha, don't ask me these questions, I'm a total n00b at this. But I don't think they're actually fed. They just need people to look at them to grow up and... well as you can see I'm not even through the egg phase so I'm not sure what the adults require. But I do know that the adults can be made to breed so that you get new eggs.
