Inspired by
lila_vulpes's recent post...
If any of you have favourite songs in languages other than English, I'd like to hear them.
I can probably find most songs on my own if provided with just the name of the song and artist, but if you have links for download or to YouTube, those would be welcome as well.
Hell, if you want to recommend a song (or an artist) that is in English, go ahead. Ditto for Finnish songs.
Also, vaguely related: If anyone could send me Kriitikko (Mustavalkoinen tuomio) by Klamydia, I'd love that person forever. I know it's a long shot to be pleading it from my flist, but you never know.

Date: 2008-08-06 04:53 am (UTC)Como Nossos Pais (Like our Parents) by Elis Regina http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXR6RndxRTFFQlE9PQ – lyricks are kinda poetic and symbolic, but it basically says that no matter what we do, we still act like our parents. This version, sung by Elis, is not the first one, but my favorite.
Vinte e Poucos Anos (Twenty-and-something years) by Fabio Júnior http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXQrYSsxUUJFQlE9PQ – lyricks are that we won’t give up on his 20’s, no matter what other people do or say
Estúpido Cupido (Stupid Cupid) by Celly Campello http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXR4bEFEbUpFQlE9PQ – lol a classic. It’s basically the singer not wanting Cupid around, for she’s suffered enough with love XD Probably the first and original version, although I like another one (which I can’t send cuz the CD I had with it was stolen T__T)
Ana Júlia http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXQ0QTZwM214dnc9PQ and Primavera (Spring) http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXQ4NnlWRDlFQlE9PQ both by Los Hermanos – not soooo old, Ana Julia was a success around 2000. Ana Julia is about, well, Ana Julia: he says she left him and such, and he misses her, y’know the deal XD; And Primavera follows the same idea, only it seems she didn’t really left him on purpose, but went away.
Chocolate com Pimenta (Chocolate with Pepper) by Deborah Blando http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXR3Mm0zMW14dnc9PQ – not an oldie, but the theme song of a soap-opera XD Said soap-opera’s story was set in the 20’s, so this song tries to “mimic” how music was on that time. Not that famous either (only when the soap-opera aired) but I like it nonetheless XDD Lyricks are about opposites: chocolate with pepper, yin-yang, sun and moon, etc.
A Miragem (The Mirage) by Marcus Vianna http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXQrd0FrUmswTVE9PQ – another one from a soap-opera. Really poetic song about love and its sacrifices. Sorry if a few seconds are cut from the ending >__< I have a lower-quality version with no cut-ending, in case you wanna hear.
My Mistake by The Pholhas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGSU0D2jvJQ – they’re a Brazilian group from around 70’s, but sang some songs in English. Not too famous, but my dad loves them XD I have the mp3 too… somewhere XD;; I’ll try to find it.
Olhar 43 (Gaze 43) http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXQ2V3JsMHp2Wmc9PQ and Rádio Pirata (Pirate Radio...well obviouslyXD) http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXR3TXZveE0wTVE9PQ both by RPM – Today RPM’s singer, Paulo Ricardo, is in solo career. All of their songs are great /o/ Olhar 43 is about him being crazy about this girl and stuff. Rádio Pirata is kinda symbolic, but seems to make a critic to the society.
Meu Mundo e Nada Mais (My World and Nothing Else) by Guilherme Arantes http://www.megaupload.com/pt/?d=NQU3Y25L – lyricks are about how he and his world changed, and how he wanted it to be the way it was before.
Pintura Íntima (Intimate Paint) by Kid Abelha http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PLXK4DZM – I love this song hehe. She talks about how she’s waiting for her lover and such. “Fazer amor de madrugada” is “Make love at dawn” XD
Tornerò by I Santo California http://www.yousendit.com/download/Q01GSXQ1Y3lubVh2Wmc9PQ – an Italian oldie, one of my dad’s fav songs ever, so I blame him lol. Lyricks seem to be about the dude leaving, and saying to his girlfriend that she shouldn’t be sad and such.
Detami um Martello by Rita Pavone http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1REAN2BJ – well I’m sure you know this one XD Another Italian song. I believe the title is “Give me a hammer” XD
If I remember more, I’ll post ‘em X3

Date: 2008-08-06 02:57 am (UTC)I've got a rather large rec list for Japanese songs, and I'm not sure which of these you're really into or not, but a few I really recommend are:
Mizu Kagami, sung by Seki Tomokazu for Fushigi Yuugi
This Light I See, sung by Paku Romi for Bleach
Aesthetics and Identity, sung by Sugiyama Noriaki & Morita Masakazu for Bleach
One by B'z for Detective Conan (theme song of the third movie)
True Light by Miyamoto Shunichi for DNAngel
Yuusha oh Tanjou! by Masaaki Endoh for GaoGaiGar (the song is rediculously catchy, in a very odd way (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w9UX_ZxAmA))
And a ridiculously large number of songs from Prince of Tennis, which could probably take up a post in and of itself.

Date: 2008-08-06 10:25 pm (UTC)Here ya are. Hopefully, I got a good mix of the various songs they do: mostly solos, couple duets, some outright crack (much of which actually belongs to Sanada; for some reason, his songs are really awesome or really cracktastic).
I've only listened to a few so far, but...
Date: 2008-08-07 12:22 am (UTC)WTF @ Kusunoki Taiten's singing. You weren't kidding about Sanada alternating between crack and awesome...the crack is a bit too cracky for me though, I keep laughing at it. XD
Excuse me while I faint over Kiuchi Hidenobu now. (Well, more than I previously did, at least.) Do you know if that's his normal speaking voice on Gin no Ken? I've only ever heard him as Nero from One Piece, and he sounds...well, totally different as Oshitari.
These definitely stay. Thank you!
Re: I've only listened to a few so far, but...
Date: 2008-08-07 01:05 am (UTC)I think it wouldn't seem half as cracky if Sanada wasn't so serious in the series. There's some serious split personality in his singing, when you get down to it.
I've no clue what Kiuchi's voice sounds like, or if that is his real voice. Honestly, most of Oshitari's songs aren't my favorite, but there are a few really good ones in there.
I'm glad I could get them to you. It's just a good thing MediaFire's as simple as it is.

Date: 2008-08-06 06:34 pm (UTC)For better or for worse, Yuusha oh Tanjou! is the perfect song for GaoGaiGar--everyone I've seen either loves or hates both song and show. I will continue pimping it in the hope that the number of people who love it will grow.
And while I'm thinking about it, tossing EDEN by To Destination (from Yami no Matsuei) onto the list, as I forgot it yesterday.

Jonne on aika veijari. Tässäpä Odda Mailbli (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epxndcYD_ZU).
ps. Alahan tulla wowittaa Meerillä. Murise sille hiirelle vaikka. :D

Date: 2008-08-09 08:48 pm (UTC)Hall Om Mig (http://www.sendspace.com/file/pdcpjh) by Nanne: I...actually have no idea what this one is about, but it's hardcore! Got a lot of oomph to it.
Baby Don't Cry (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ar091a) by Namie Amuro: No idea what this is about, either, but it's very sweet, sort of like an upbeat lullaby. A bit of it is in English, if that's okay.
Fuminshou no Nemurihime (http://www.sendspace.com/file/ar091a) by Miyavi: Full of guitar and awesome. S'all I got.
Joy Trip (http://www.sendspace.com/file/0gsnyo) by Bennie K: This remains to date the only song I have ever heard that is both containing banjos and genuinely good.
Aaaand that's all I got. Although if ever it happens that you get addicted to Bennie K, I have lots. :D Happy Drive and Disco Sempai are good, too.

Date: 2008-08-09 09:10 pm (UTC)No worries, though; I found Fuminshou no Nemurihime on Limewire.
I've actually heard Håll om mig before, and, since it's in Swedish, can even understand it with some effort. XD Basically it's a kind of passionate love song and it can be summed up in "Hold me and never let go" and "My heart's beating SO fast right now".

Date: 2008-08-10 05:17 pm (UTC)Oh, cool! And now I know. :D I've got another Nanne song called Evig Kärlek, which is also pretty cool. Have you heard that one?
