Saw Twilight yesterday.
It was actually a bit better than I'd expected, although that's not saying much, seeing as how I've only really heard bad things about the series. Sparkling vampires still make no sense (the sparkling was kind of underwhelming, too. If you're going to sparkle, then at least have the decency to bling like no tomorrow) and breaking into a girl's room to watch her sleep is creepy as all get-out.
Bella's actress constantly looked and sounded like she was cold. Edward's actor looked ridiculous with his stupid hair and was not at all hot. Life loves kicking Bella's dad in the teeth and I felt sorry for him.
However, watching this movie I realized that there is still something sensual in the neck-biting business for me. I'm mostly over vampires as a whole, but the biting scenes tugged at the fourteen-year old in me.
Oh, yeah, and the special effects were pretty lame. Whenever Edward used his leet vampire powarz, it all just looked so fake. Like running (he didn't seem to be be pushing off of the ground, just moving his legs back and forth) or jumping (the trajectories were usually way off).
SO! I'm still glad I went, because now I have some semblance of an idea of what Twilight is like. I realize that I'd get a better idea by reading the books, but I don't feel like it.
