Okay, guys, time for a series of screencap posts! From One Piece Movie 8 (a.k.a the Alabasta remake). This will be split over a number of posts to keep the amount of images in each post within some kind of limit.
First, my short notes on the movie:
The first thing about the movie is that it's rushed. You just can't cram Alabasta into one and a half hours. The second thing is that things have been cut and some scenes have been altered because of those cuts.
The actors also speak faster, which takes away from some emotional scenes.
Nevertheless, it's my second favourite OP movie (my favourite being Movie 6) partly because it's Alabasta, and partly because it doesn't involve angsty ten-year-olds or imaginary childhood friends.
Also, these people don't exist in this version of the arc:
- Igaram
- Marine characters (=Smoker, Tashigi etc.)
- Any Baroque Works agents who didn't fight in one of the big fights of this arc.
Now that all that is said, on to the caps:

The movie opens with a flashback/dream/thing with Vivi and Pell flying above Alubarna. The conversation between Vivi and Pell about the fighting and protecting thing is also put here.

A bit of anxious music and quick pictures of the Rebel and Royal armies later, Vivi awakes to screams and finds herself on the deck of the Going Merry.

She goes to investigate and finds Luffy and Usopp staring at something, utterly terrified.

And with good reason. This is one of the most beautiful things in the entire movie. It's just... pure love.

Vivi does the only reasonable thing there is to do in a situation like that; she hits the two fishermen for using her duck as bait ♥ I'm such a sucker for violent Vivi. (remember this, it will be important later)

Bon Kurei gets on board. Notice how Sanji is present, here. That's a-OK, though, since so much has been cut out in this movie that Bon Kurei's visit on Merry almost doesn't matter.
Also notice how the back of Bon's coat looks a bit different from the TV anime. THAT'S RIGHT! Okama Way got to stay, ladies and gentlemen!

STARING MATCH. Okay not really, but I liked this shot.

So Bon punches Luffy through a wall, causing further damage to poor Merry, and surprises everyone with his Mane Mane ability.

Then he touches the rest of the crew. Usopp doesn't like being fondled. :(

Nami and Zoro feel oddly violated.

And Sanji doesn't want anyone touching him if they don't have boobs.

Luffy is all over this awesome ability, though.

I totally love this part. Zoro's face is so creepy when Bon Kurei is using it.

Nami thinks so too.

And then Bon proceeds to fry Usopp's brain. (seriously, look at that expression. You can practically hear him shortcircuiting)

Then there's the good ol' memory ability, complete with Cobra's face, but that didn't look that interesting. Nami, however, spots a ship, but doesn't appreciate awesome hairy legs, it seems.

"OH NOES THAT WAS MR.2" "And suddenly the Dance Powder Incident makes sense, too!"

OH LAWL LUFFY (Sanji kicks Luffy for saying Vivi's dad is the bad guy).

Cut to Nanohana, where Sir Crocodile is being cheered on as he kills a dude.

Then to Alubarna, where Cobra looks like he's had some Botox treatments.

And apparently Crocodile went through the trouble of dragging the corpse from Nanohana all the way to the palace in Alubarna. How nice of him.

Meanwhile, our heroes are taking precautions against Mr.2's ability.

We see the X now instead of later, because the part where the double-mark is revealed didn't make it in the movie.

And here's the title screen.

After that the crew is already on their way to Yuba. Here they meet Toto.

But the Rebels aren't there, because they're in Nanohana, watching it BURN. The fake Cobra isn't shown, though, and Kohza didn't get shot. In fact, he doesn't get shot at all in this movie. Remarkable, isn't it?

But there are some Baroque Works members there disguised as royal soldiers, so I guess that's good enough. Though I must say how they're just hanging out in the doorway of a ruined house with a fire apparently JUST A FEW FEET AWAY. I guess looking evil is more important than getting the fuck away from a burning city.

Cut to Croc and the agents. No time for Spider's Cafe or Rain Dinners in the movie, so they meet in what appears to be the place where Usopp and Chopper fight the Mr. 4 pair later.

While Vivi has HAD IT UP TO HERE with Luffy's bullshit and punches his face in. ♥

You know what's going on here. Vivi dopesn't want to accpt that people are going to die and Luffy wants to go after Crocodile instead of running around trying to find the Rebels.

Then Luffy's words finally get through to her and SHE PULLS THE WOOBIEFACE OF THE CENTURY. Awww.

In Alubarna, the news of Nanohana have reached the ears of the loyal Guardians. And Pell's face is worth money. (Here, take a closer look)

Cobra shows up to give out orders and they leave, but little do they know...

...his hed is actually pastede on.

Skipping Rainbase entirely, the Strawhats have found themselves a crab to take them to.. wherever it is they're going right now.

BUT WHAT IS THIS? A sudden sandstorm brews.

Oh no! The villain got the princess!
To be continued....
(Onwards to Part 2)
