Actually, the issue was about whether the house belonged to Harry, to whom Sirius had left it, or Bellatrix, who would have been the next in line after Sirius. Once they concluded that the house and everything inside - including Kreacher - was rightfully Harry's, Harry told Dumbledore they could keep using it as a HQ. It was never brought up again so we don't really know if it actually is being used for anything.
