Bryan quite enjoys getting down at the Thriller Bark disco events. It's the only place where he can flip out and maim fellow partygoers for no reason without getting funny looks.
Seriously, though, I'm wondering if both aren't based on some symbol that has something to do with resurrection... it could be a pure coincidence, of course, but they're awfully similar designs and located roughly in the same spot. And both characters are connected to dead being brought back alive.
I guess Bryan's had that shadow for quite a while, then, to develop such a different personality(kind of like the two Lolas, I guess. The warthog-Lola is mugh more violent than the real Lola)
And Brook and Ryuuma don't have identical movesets either, so that's not an issue anyway. :D We may assume Bryan just knew kung fu a lot of moves before he died.
