One Piece volume 5 came out in Finnish today. I was relieved to find they kept Johnny and Yosaku's "aniki". It would have been super weird if they didn't call the crewmembers that.
Anyway, I was thinking about Harry Potter stuff last night.
First off, now that Dumbledore is dead, what of Number 12, Grimmauld Place? He was the secret keeper, wasn't he? Do we know what happens to secrets when the secret keeper dies? Does the spell vanish? Or will the secret stay forever guarder from those the secret keeper didn't tell? Will the people whose secret it was be able to appoint a new secret keeper?
Second of all, Narcissa finally confirmed what the fandom always "knew"; Lucius and Severus are friends. To a degree, at any rate. Why is Lucius on such good terms with a half-blood?
And lastly, am I imagining things or do we seem to have a lot of very talented witches and wizards of impure blood? I mean, look at Hermione, Harry, Snape, Voldemort and Lily. Hermione is good at everything she does (although she does sutdy hard, she also has a lot of talent). Harry was capable of producing a full Patronus at the age of thirteen and is obviously good at magic when he wants to. Snape, as we know, knows a lot about dark arts and potions, and he's a good enough Occlumens to keep his thoughts hidden from either Voldemort or Dumbledore (not that DD would necessarily have tried to invade his thoughts). Voldemort is one of the most powerful wizards of the age. Lily seems to have been very good at a lot of stuff, as well.
On the other hand, the purebloods are mostly average students who excel at one or two subjects at most. Does this suggest that muggle blood is actually the very thing that keeps magic alive? That if a family is able to maintain pure blood for enough generations without interbreeding causing an issue, they will eventually start giving birth to squibs?
Of course it could be just that JKR is just trying to prove her point about those of mixed blood being just as good as (or sometimes even better than) any pureblood and I'm just reading too much into it.
I'd like to hear your opinions on this.
