Dark Harbor is a pretty dumb movie.
It's poorly cut and the narrative flow is jerky, and not in a good, mood-establishing way. None of the characters have any real depth despite the fact that every word they say is loaded with meaning, and they talk a lot. To top it all off, the twist makes very little sense even with all the foreshadowing which, to the movie's credit, is subtle enough, but doesn't really make sense once Fridge Logic sets in.
If you're going to do a... thriller, as this movie claims to be, you need a little more for suspense than playing unfitting music while Alan Rickman fetches coffee in broad daylight.
It's not even a thriller, really. It's more like a drama, except the characters are uninteresting, so it doesn't work as a drama, either.
